Standards in Fundraising Practices

Commitment to Standards in Fundraising Practice

The 3Ts (Turn the Tide of Suicide) are registered members of the Charities Institute Ireland (CII).

CII was founded in 2015, and promotes a Triple Lock standard for charities. The three measures of these standards are good governance, best practice fundraising and transparent financial reporting. CII develop, guide and support us as members through objectives outlined in 3 strategic pillars – Advocacy, Education and Communication.

In 2017, the Charities Regulator issued Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from the Public (the "Guidelines"). These "Guidelines" represent another step towards a strong, professional and trusted charity sector and they build on the Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising (the "Statement").

The Charities Regulator’s Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from the Public exists to:

  • Improve fundraising practice.
  • Promote high levels of accountability & transparency by organisations fundraising from the public.
  • Provide clarity & assurances to donors & prospective donors about the organisations they support.

We, the 3Ts, have considered the Guidelines.  We are fully committed to achieving the standards contained within the Guidelines and believe we meet the standards it sets out.

The 3Ts report on our fundraising activities is available in our most recent Financial Statements. Our Financial Statements to date reflect our commitment to the Guidelines for Charitable Organisations Fundraising from the Public and our compliance with same.

We welcome your feedback on our performance via any of the contact points provided (see below).
