2019 & 2018 Food for Thought

What is Food for Thought?

Food for Thought (#FFT) is the brainchild of talented young chef Dan Hannigan, of Dublin’s Richmond Restaurant, made possible through the support of a close group of friends and colleagues.

Daniel lost his own Father to suicide at a young age.  Having worked his way up through some of the country’s finest kitchen’s, he is acutely aware of the highly stressful nature of the food industry.  With this in mind, he started to hold Pop-Up Fine Dining Events with the aim to promote positive mental health within the industry and beyond.  He also chose to raise awareness and funds for suicide prevention.  3Ts are delighted to be the Food for Thought Charity Partner.

Bringing together the country’s finest chefs

During 2018, Dan’s idea really took off.  Food for Thought attracted great interest within the industry and from press and media.  With each event, Dan raised the bar, bringing together a stellar line-up of award-winning and Michelin Star chefs, with a wonderful front of house & kitchen support team.  #FFT showcases the finest of Irish produce, in many instances donated by a long list of high quality  suppliers.

Our sincere thanks to all for their generosity and for all who work behind the scenes to bring together these memorable events.

Events to date:  #FFT have held pop-up events at:

  • The Pigeon House Delgany
  • Lock’s Restaurant
  • Opium Dublin
  • Mulberry Gardens
  • L’Ecrivain

But Dan says it all much better than we can.  Check out their Instagram and Facebook for news, pics and videos.  Watch Dan’s Food for Thought Video here to learn more about the concept and the passion the #FFT team have for promoting positive mental health and suicide prevention.

In addition to the fine dining pop-ups, 3Ts have collaborated with the #FFT teams in producing a small series of videos on “What Gets You Through Tough Times?”  You can watch these videos here

Our sincere thanks to Dan, to all the chefs, sommelier’s, front of house and support team, to the restaurants and suppliers who all helped bring Food for Thought to the table to help raise awareness of mental health and suicide.  We’ve had so much fun working with Dan and his team and are looking forward to more collaborations during 2019.
