Eating Disorders Awareness Week #EDAW2020: 2-8 March 2020

Eating Disorders Awareness Week, #EDAW2020, is an international awareness event.  It aims to fight the myths and misunderstandings surrounding anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder & EDNOS.

Do you know the signs and symptoms of an eating disorder? Are you concerned about your own health or that of a friend or loved one? Do you know what steps to take to get the help needed?

The sooner someone with an eating disorder gets the treatment they need, the more likely they are to make a full & fast recovery. As well as campaigning to improve the services available, we must raise awareness of  signs and symptoms of an eating disorder.  We need to encourage and empower people to take action now, no matter how long their symptoms have been present.

Bodywhys, the Eating Disorders Association of Ireland, provides a range of supports and services including helpline, peer to peer support and support for families.

The Bodywhys website www.bodywhys.ie is an excellent place to start to understand more about these complex psychological disorders and to access the help needed to start on the road to recovery.

During #EDAW2020, Bodywhys are holding a series of events, so keep an eye on their social media and on their website for updates.
