27 May 2019: Food for Thought Gertrude

Food for Thought (#FFT) is the brainchild of talented young chef Dan Hannigan, Sous Chef at Richmond Restaurant in Dublin, with the support of a close group of friends.

Next event will be in Gertrude Restaurant in Dublin’s Grand Canal district on May 27th

The team will once again provide an incredible tasting menu with cooking by some of Ireland’s most exciting chefs.  The team includes chefs from Kai in Galway, Dublin’s Etto, Liath, Circa and Gertrude

Tickets  go on sale on Monday 29th April for €100 and everything raised is donated to 3Ts.

Daniel lost his own Father to suicide at a young age, and, having worked his way up through some of the country’s finest kitchen’s, he is also acutely aware of the highly stressful nature of the food industry.  With this in mind, he started to hold Pop-Up Fine Dining Events with the aim to promote positive mental health within his industry and beyond, and to raise funds for suicide prevention.  3Ts are delighted to be the Food for Thought Charity Partner.

During 2018 and into 2019, Dan’s idea really took off, attracting great interest within the industry and from press and media.  With each event, Dan raised the bar, bringing together a stellar line-up of award-winning and Michelin Star chefs, with a wonderful front of house & kitchen support team.  #FFT showcases the finest of Irish produce, in many instances donated by a long list of high quality suppliers.  Our sincere thanks to all for their generosity and for all who work behind the scenes to bring together these memorable events.

To date, #FFT have held pop-up events at:

  • The Pigeon House Delgany
  • Lock’s Restaurant
  • Opium Dublin
  • Mulberry Gardens
  • L’Ecrivain
  • Clanbrassil House
  • Gertrude

But Dan says it all much better than we can.  You can check out their Instagram and Facebook for lots of news, photos and videos or watch Dan’s Food for Thought Video here to learn more about the concept and the passion that Dan and his friends and colleagues have for promoting positive mental health and working together to help prevent deaths by suicide.
